National parks offer plenty
of play
The Aguirres were
not camping people. We did not pack the car with gear to enjoy nature and
visit the outdoors.
I theorized it was because my
parents had grown up working in fields. Having fulfilled the American dream
of homeownership, why would they want to go outdoors to see trees (even
extra-tall ones) when there's one in the backyard?

Crystal Cave Reopened for Tours
Sequoia National
Park— Late in the afternoon on May 15 park employees working in Crystal
Cave found what appeared to be live explosives. After discovery was made all
visitors and employees were evacuated from the area and park officials
contacted the Chief Regional Blaster, who is certified in abandoned
explosives for the National Park Service.
